Milwaukee has recently come out with new USA-made oscillating multi-tool blades, and they put together a special holiday season promo where you can get a 20pc set for just $30 with free shipping.
This looks to be a RED HOT DEAL!

Ignore the sanding pad and abrasives for a moment. With this set, you get 7 cutting blades of different sizes and styles.
Oh, and there’s also a zippered tool pouch to hold them in.
AND, you get FREE shipping, even if you just order this and nothing else.
This looks like a crazy “someone must be losing money on this!” type of deal.

Also keep in mind that these have Milwaukee’s Open-Lok universal-style format that fits many brands of multi-tools, not just theirs.
Compatibility includes:
Compatibility with Most Professional Grade Multi-Tool Brands: Milwaukee, Bosch (Non-Starlock), SKIL, Makita, Craftsman, Fein (Non-Starlock), Ridgid, AEG, Ozito, Ryobi. Adaptor (48-90-0000) available for Porter Cable, Black & Decker, and DeWalt Multi-Tools.
Price: $30
Model: 49-10-9130
COO: Milwaukee’s website for their other OMT blade sets say: Made in USA with US and Foreign Components. It could be that the sanding accessories are imported, we’re not sure.
WAIT: Is it Really a Good Deal?
There is another assortment, 49-10-9125, an 8pc set which sells for $30 and comes with 6 blades and 2 scrapers. This looks to be a Home Depot exclusive.
Another assortment, 49-10-9121, gives you 5 blades and a case for $25.
(10) titanium-enhanced bi-metal blades are priced at $100 via Tool Nut.
(3) high carbon steel wood-cutting blades are $30 via Tool Nut. A (10) pack is $80.
At $30 for the promo Milwaukee cutting and sanding assortment, they’re not exactly giving it away, but it does look to be a very good deal.

I’m a sucker for “kits”. Especially with a pouch so I can keep these things handy (and not rattling around) for my multiple Bosch multi tools.
Thx.
res51cue
Seems like all the newer Bosch multitools are Starlock fittings now, eh? I suppose if you have one of those, these wouldn’t work?
Stuart
These accessories are compatible with a wide range of multi-tools, except for Bosch and Fein Starlock models. That’s a proprietary interface that you can only use with Starlock blades.
Blocky
Can Bosch OMT’s use this with the starlock interface? If so, I’ll have to jump on this.
Blocky
Nm I should read more carefully.

Depends on the unit.
My two Bosch ( one corded maybe 5 yrs old, one 12v and 1 yr old ) are NOT starlock.

Nice info, and question, is this a universal set? will it fit other brand name such as Fein? Thanks
Stuart
This is addressed in the post: yes, they’re compatible with non-Starlock Fein tools.

Thanks Sturat
Stuart
You’re welcome!

Now that Milwaukee own imperial I’d be curious to know if they are using their tech to make blades now?
Clay
I wonder how many folks use the sanding attachment on their OMT? I never have, but that is not to say I wouldn’t.
Jared
It’s a special use case only for me. I have the sanding pad attachment for my Dewalt OMT and rarely use it.
Doesn’t make any sense in most cases when I have actual sanders to use instead. The OMT makes a pretty lousy general purpose sander. However, the triangle tip on the OMT sanding pad can be handy for tight corners – and if you just cut something with the OMT blade, it can be handy to have the sanding pad to clean up the edges.
Bolt
I use mine a decent amount. Mostly because I don’t own a working corner cat or 1/4 sheet sander.
Adam
Sort of need it if you only have a 5″ orbital sander to get the corners. Not used a ton, but it works.
Fein actually made a 5″ disc that I picked up from Sears years ago. Never loved the performance, but maybe with one of the new Fuel OMTs I will.
now to burst everyone’s bubble. These blades apparently suck for the money. Great for one cut
was the fastest 1st nails: https://youtu.be/joVfNnbweYY?t=428
but couldn’t finish all the nails: https://youtu.be/joVfNnbweYY?t=438
couldn’t cut a drywall screw: https://youtu.be/joVfNnbweYY?t=598
Stuart
Bi-metal blades are absolutely terrible at cutting hard metal such as drywall screws. You really need to step up to carbide.
I’ve been using some of the blades on wood, and they’ve been working wonderfully.
Remember, these are likely made by Imperial Tools, which is no stranger to oscillating multi-tool blades. They should work as well as Imperial Tool accessories, maybe even better.
adam
See, I guess I had that impression as well (the Imperial blade purchase). And the test was only for one style blade. I guess I missed that they were not carbide as well. I had seen the $20 a blade, and thought it must be carbide.
So I also thought I posted this comment, but didn’t show up. And didn’t show up for a while. So I posted my 2nd comment. Now I see both. There was definetly some delay. (I know first timer posters can see delays until post is approved, maybe with the YT links.) anyway, wouldnt have only posted once on the subject
Andrew Drozd
I use mine a ton when repairing tile, cleaning out old mortar and grout and giving myself enough room to collapse the ridges on the new mortar.
Aaron
I can never figure out what is a good deal on OMT blades. In my brain they are more like screwdriver bits or jigsaw/recip saw blades than they are like circ saw blades so they always look insanely overpriced.
fred
Seems like HD negotiated a good price on this kit.
I’ve seen this one at HD too:

Koko The Talking Ape
Off-topic, but I noticed HD has a pair of Fastbacks for $5 off. This bundle doesn’t include blades, so it isn’t as good a deal as we’ve seen, but anyway.

I really like the fastback knives, I bought this set a couple months ago to get free shipping on an order and use them all the time.
Randy
These look good, but I much prefer the blades with the rounded cutting edges for my uses, which are normally wood work with a lot of plunge cuts.

Anyone catch this deal? Hole Dozer Bi-Metal General Purpose Hole Saw and Reciprocating Saw Set with PACKOUT Case (20-Piece) for $53!

AT the store it is at the gift center area with $39.99 price, I asked customer service and the price I paid was $29.88
Why they have it at a higher display price?
Stuart
In the past, some tools were set at price through Thanksgiving, and then shifted down to a lower price on or around Black Friday.
JB
I’ve been noticing this more and more often at HD. One store by me wouldn’t price match their website. Doesn’t make sense because you can just order online for store pickup with the cheaper price.
Jordan
I was at HD today as they were literally pulling back the curtains (aisle divider) from all the holiday displays, including these. I should have grabbed this lot when I was there.
Adam
DO NOT BUY!
good for one cut, if it isn’t a drywall screw.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joVfNnbweYY
Okay, so some of the blades might have use for you, but the video did sway me from buying Milwaukee blades
Stuart
1) They were comparing a Milwaukee blade designed for “cutting wood with nails, non-ferrous metal, and PVC” against blades designed for cutting metal. Context matters.
2) That blade has been discontinued. Notice how the blade they tested has a full ring interface. All of Milwaukee’s NEW and current blades have a split ring interface.
Bi-metal blades designed for cutting wood, or wood with nails are going to perform pretty terribly when cutting nails at the same spot, and atrociously with something like a drywall screw.
fred
My experience with drywall screws is that if you can locate them (strong magnet often works) and pull them, then you are better off. When using an OMT you are often looking to make a cutout – so you might be encountering the drywall screw head-on which is challenging for any blade.
Dave the tool
So these will fit Dewalt or do you need the adaptor?
Stuart
I found mention that an adapter is needed, but the interface looks similar and so I’m not sure why. I’ll try to dig up a Dewalt sample if I have one still around, to check for sure.

Thanks

In for two. I’d hypothesize this is an attempt at tanking the new diablo omt blade sales. I don’t go through these blades quickly since they’re more for when nothing else is quite right. Probably why it’s limited to two per person. That way a few select people don’t just scoop them all up and fence them on ebay for a small profit.
On a tangent it appears my suggestion on having some title measurement structure for how good deals are took root. It does make it easier for me as a toolguyd subscriber.
Stuart
Well, it seems like a hot deal, and the “red” is partially fits into a Milwaukee-red theme.
It’s really hard to qualify deals in a title. I tend to treat them different on a case by case basis, and going by personal feelings.
The more of a WHOA THAT’s a GREAT DEAL feeling a deal invokes, the more excitement makes its way into the title as I excitedly wrote up a post.
The holiday season is going to see a TON of deal posts, as usual. Some are going to be “this is going to benefit people, I need to write about it” types of posts, others will be “don’t miss this!!” types of deals, because it’s how I feel.
There might be some where I don’t know how much emphasis to put into a title, and those will be given the “what’s the public sentiment on this going to be?” treatment, where I’ll title the deal how I think it needs to be.
Trial and error?
I’ll also mix in dates, months, or seasonal notes, which helps with future reference and when I’m compiling everything for Thanksgiving week when there’s too much to remember or keep track of otherwise.
That’s also why I’ve started categorizing things early at the top of the page, instead of just having retailer links – I found this helped last year.
I’ll have to look up the feedback you gave in the past. ANY optimization or “this would help me more…” suggestions or requests are always appreciated, especially this time of year.
Last year there were 117 holiday tool deal posts, the most we’ve ever had. https://toolguyd.com/tag/holiday-2019/
