Over at CPO, they have a really good deal bundle on the new Milwaukee M12 Fuel oscillating multi-tool.
For context, the bare tool sells for $149, and a home center has a deal bundle right now where you get the bare tool and a single M12 battery for the same price.

At CPO, they have this special buy priced at $169, model 2526-2411-BNDL.

First of all, I am really liking this new Milwaukee brushless oscillating multi-tool. It has a tool-free blade change mechanism, and quite a lot of power and cutting performance for a tool of its size.
With this bundle, you get the tool, a small starter assortment of multi-tool cutting and sanding accessories, an M12 charger, (1) 1.5Ah and (1) 2.0Ah battery, and a Packout tool bag. All this for just $20 more than the bare tool.

This seems like a “run, don’t walk” deal for anyone looking to get this new M12 Fuel OMT in kit format.
I mentioned the bare tool being priced at $149. There’s also a kit, 2526-21XC, which comes with a charger, soft tool bag, and M12 XC 4Ah battery, for $205. Other sellers have it at $219.
Some of you have been commenting that I’ve persuaded you to spend more money than you expected to this holiday season. But with this special buy, which I would presume will only be valid for a limited time, you’re saving quite a but of money compared to the regular kit.
With the bare tool at $149 and the kit at $205 to $219, this deal bundle is an incredibly good bargain at just $169. If you ask me, it’d have been a great bundle deal even without the Packout tool bag.
IF you’ve been looking for a brushless 12V-class oscillating multi-tool, or were considering buying the M12 Fuel OMT at a later time, this is going to be a very hard to deal pass up.
At the time of this posting, 2526-2411 seems to be a CPO-exclusive Milwaukee kit. It’s possible other Milwaukee dealers will have their turn at offering this special buy later in the holiday shopping season. And so, if you’re on the fence, this could either be your only chance to buy this special bundle deal, or it might only be the first opportunity.
Thanks to Tom D for the find, and for volunteering to share some of the blame for draining readers’ wallets and tool budgets!

That is a great deal. Eclipses the HD deal with 1 free battery.
These new Milwaukee multi tools are looking great. I just wish they had starlock. I’ll stick with my Fein 12v for now. It’s a luxury I know but it’s incredibly convenient.

Starlock blades will still work, but they have to be screwed in. Not as convenient I know. I have a corded Fein with Starlock and I love it, but I just picked this one up from HD and am very impressed with it. I’ve been wanting a cordless OMT for a few years but didn’t like most of the options and didn’t want to have another battery set just for that. I have DeWalt 20v and Milwaukee 12v so this is perfect for me.
William
Just ordered this, was one the on the fence with the Hime Depot Package, I still have my old Fein Corded, but this deal put it over the top.
Thanks so much

There’s finally some useful youtube reviews of this tool. Looks like better performance than even the first gen 18v version. Makes the first gen m12 look like a toy. This is certainly tempting to me but I’m going to hold out in hopes of a deal on a tool only version in the spring. Spent too much the last couple weeks – no thanks to you, Stuart 🙂
fred
The first gen M12 was a poor excuse for a toy. We got some as “freebee” promotions and the guys all dumped them back at the workout centers – they were that wimpy. We had been using Fein corded Multimasters and Supercuts – so maybe the early M12’s paled by comparison. Hope this one is really better.
Bill
I’ve had the Fein 12v version, I think it’s called Multi Talent, for a few years now and I reach for it over my Dewalt 20v every time. The Fein is always a pleasure to use with its low vibration design and easy blade change system.
Sam
I watched the same youtube video. It was a good one. It made me willing to buying if I see a good deal. And I snapped one.
Kent
I was going to comment that it’s a really disappointing tool. Not much power, but it sure eats batteries.
Glad to hear they updated it.
fred
Way off topic – but Wiha says that they are having a sale on “stocking stuffers”

Picked mine up with one battery for $120 buy of the day. This is a great deal. They also had it bundled with one or two batteries along with the new m12 radio/charger for somewhere around $220 I believe. It was a buy of the day a week or two back.
Stuart
That was a great price too – Home Depot had it for $119 for the bare tool and 2Ah battery – https://toolguyd.com/milwaukee-black-friday-2020-cordless-power-tool-deals-home-depot/ .
But, given the pattern I’ve observed over the years, that deal is unlikely to return. Some tools do return for a second chance, but it’s impossible to predict which ones.
Here’s the link for anyone that wants to check.

I hope Milwaukee doesn’t realize that throwing in Packout makes these deals irresistible- or maybe I do … 🤔
John Blair
I hope you get some commission for clicking your link, you deserve it!
Travis
Thank you for pointing this one out. Done!

When it comes to oscillating tools, is there a preference for 12v vs. 18v? I have both M12 and M18 tools. Are weight and ergonomics the only differences?
Tom D
Everything else being equal the M18 should have more “max power” and a longer runtime – I’m not using tools all day so the shorter runtime of M12 wouldn’t bother me as long as it can do what I need.
John
I am struggling with the same decision but not just for OMT. I am not a professional. And I’d prefer to deal with only one battery type (e.g. M12 or M18, but not both) . I already have Bosch 12v drill after my 14v Dewalt drill battery died and the replacement battery was almost as much as a new drill. The Dewalt cordless drill got very little use from me before the battery system got out dated. I do not want to expand my Bosch tools and despite little use, the few times I used the 12v drill it felt under-powered for what I was doing. . For professionals, I understand the batteries are more consumables and over time you buy many replacements and/or switch systems. But for me, I want the tools/batteries to last many many years and have comparability. Something that didn’t happen with my first cordless Dewalt drill. I know times have changed but the corded tools that my father and grandfather used lasted their lifetime and I have today (some are more than 50 years old)
Stuart
Depending on your needs, it can be very hard to limit yourself to one voltage system. What if you need a cordless stapler or pin nailer? M12. Brad nailer or full-size circular saw? M18.
A-A-Ron
Have you considered Makita? Their 18v platform runs the gamut from large (2x18v) to standard single-battery tools to sub-compact. Honestly they’re hard to beat if you want a single battery platform that doesn’t compromise quality. I have the subcompact drill, impact driver, and 3/8 impact wrench and they’re a dream to use. The impacts run a bit long but the noses are very narrow which allows for a lot of access in tight quarters.
John
Thanks. I did briefly look at the Rigid 18v line. A few years ago I bought into the corded JobMax multi head tool (OMT, jigsaw) and I know there was some compatibility with Ryobi. I guessed it would be sufficient for home use. But the Jigsaw use feels awkward and it appears Rigid hasn’t done too much with that line. The reciprocating head has poor reviews and no orbital action so I figured my money was better used elsewhere. I never looked into Makita, but I will now.
Stuart
There will usually be power/performance/application speed and runtime differences as well.
John
Thanks. I’m starting to believe it’s too much of an expectation for one battery type and voltage and compatibility for years and years. I just hate the idea, for my consumer/home use, of having to rebuy tools every 8-10 years. Yet I know I need cordless (e.g. recently working with corded OMT on ladder about 35 feet up was a real PITA).
Tom D
Honestly if I had to pick one SINGLE line and battery it’d be M12 or Makita 18v. Nothing else comes close to those two IMO.
King duck
I wonder why this went on such a deep discount so fast it has only been available for less than 2 months. Wish the right angle impact would go on sale this fast. I’m happy with my current m12 OMT I don’t really want to upgrade yet
Tom D
My personal suspicion is that Milwaukee either is “apologizing” for some known issues with earlier products (hense the deals around Packout things with wheels that aren’t the old toolbox) or that they overproduced Packout bags and so it’s a convenient “freebie”.
Or it may just be normal marketing. Whatever it is it’s working.
Stuart
Keep in mind that Milwaukee also recently launched oscillating multi-tool blades.
Aggressive pricing on this makes sense since it’s a new release that interested buyers might have been waiting to buy at a good price, and also it could be a gateway to more profits in the form of OMT accessories or Packout tool boxes.
Tom D
I think the discount is more on the cooler – they probably are cheap to make and have tons laying around.
Doug N
Great deal but Milwaukee should just stop making those 1.5ah batteries. They only cause frustration and poor performance with any tool.
Thom
You’re an enabler Stuart!
Neil
How does the M12 Fuel omt compare to Skil’s 12 volt brushless omt?
A-A-Ron
I’m interested in this one, too. Skil’s 12v OMT is fantastic and arguably the best tool the lineup has to date.
NoahG
Well shoot, this was the third M12 on my wish list and once again the deal was too good too good to pass. Damn you Toolguyd!
