Megapro’s wide range of multi-bit screwdrivers, bits, and accessories, are sure to meet most of your portable driving needs. Currently, there are 7 drivers with different bit assortments based on bit type or common usage – hex, tamperproof, and automotive to name a few. Each screwdriver comes with 7 double-sided bits and a 1/4″ hex driver, but you can also purchase additional bits separately. If these don’t strike your fancy, take a look at Megapro’s ratcheting, Shaftlok, or Megalok drivers.
Today, I’ll be reviewing Megapro’s 15in1 hex driver. I chose this version instead of the “original” since I often use metric hex bits on my mountain bike, and standard hex bits on various pieces of equipment. There are several industrial suppliers and a few online retailers that carry Megapro products, but I ended up ordering this driver from Sears.

Let’s start off with the handle. Constructed of hard plastic with bumps for added grip, the handle is mostly comfortable to hold. The handle is also quite large – about 1.5 inches, allowing one to apply a decent amount of torque to a fastener without breaking a sweat. At the end of the driver, the cartridge cap serves as a palm support, which translates to friction-free stability. At the shaft-end of the handle is a rotating collar, which also helps keep the driver steady for more delicate driving.
When you need to swap out bits, just take a hold of the cap, and the cartridge effortlessly slides out. To secure the cartridge, simply push it back into the handle. One thing to note is that the friction between the endcap and the handle is enough to ensure that the catridge does not move on its own – a necessary feature for bit drivers. The bits themselves snap very securely into their cartridge, and are not difficult to remove. Bits lock securely into the driver, and seem to be made of high quality hardened steel.
Overall, I am very pleased with this driver. However, there were a few aspects that I was initially unhappy about. First of all, as you can see, Megapro’s drivers are large – a lot larger than I had originally anticipated. Then, there is the “1/4″ hex driver” – a nut driver, which cannot hold standard insert bits. On the other hand, this is not a major problem since all Megapro bits can be purchased separately.

My last complaint – although Megapro’s handle is easily to clean and provides a decent grip, it slipped repeatedly when I tried to break loose tight fasteners. Let’s just say that I won’t attempt to do that again without gloves. Hard plastic bumps are much more abrasive and painful than one might think, especially when gliding over sweaty hands. In Megapro’s defense, an L-key or ratchet would have been much more suitable for these fasteners, and it is likely that ball-end bits would have sheared clean off.
In conclusion, Megapro’s 15in1 drivers are customizable, comfortable to use (under most conditions), and are of very high quality construction – I highly recommend them. At $25 (via Sears) for the non-ratcheting versions, Megapro’s drivers are still affordable, and they perform far better than most cheaper alternatives.
Lastly, Megapro’s drivers are made in the USA!

I wonder if Señor Stu still reads comments on this first post 🤔 I read your Guyd every day, several times per day. Fantastic “poop on company time” material.

Yep – I do – thank you!
(I’ve been meaning to update this post – Megapro’s handle has grown on me over the years, but I still won’t buy the hex bit version again.)
